The DC HIE Policy Board (Board) was established by Mayor’s Order 2012-96 (Board Establishment); Mayor's Order 2012-110 (Board Appointments) on February 15, 2012. The purpose of the Board is to advise the Mayor, the Director of the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF), and other District agencies, regarding the implementation of secure, protected health information benefitting District stakeholders in accordance with DHCF HIE Action Plan. The Board consists of twenty one (21) members, including seven (7) District government representatives appointed by the Mayor. For the past 1.5 years the Board has met monthly at DHCF offices, but after the January 2014 meeting a revised meeting schedule will be implemented. The inaugural meeting of the Board occurred August 1, 2012.
