I am strongly opposed to a speed camera fine increase.
According to the DC’s own statistics, only 3.1 percent of accidents were caused by drivers ignoring the speed limit; in 2013, the city's for-profit camera vendor issued $171,680,640 worth of tickets.
There are better ways to increase public safety, and more appropriate ways to collect revenue for the city.
